Concentrator Unit

In MainNet's PLUS system, CuPLUS is a broadband access communication concentrator unit that connects and transfers data over the electricity grid, from the backbone to units (NtPLUS) at the customer’s premises – directly, or via repeaters (RpEPLUS).

The CuPLUS is a point-to-multi-point BPL/PLC communication unit, which may be installed in a transformer station, or at any other point on a low-voltage electricity grid. The unit interfaces flexibly with any medium on the backbone side (whether fiber, copper, or wireless) and is managed by MainNet's network management system, NmPLUS.

CuPLUS enables the use of multiple broadband powerline applications — such as, Smart Grid, Broadband AMR, Security & Surveillance — as well as Broadband Communication services of Internet, VoIP and Video over a low-voltage grid.
